THE INTERVIEW
How did you enter the business world?
“My dad started to speak ‘being a business owner’ into me…”
“I didn’t put a lot of thought into it until later on. I wanted to build a computer and I learned how to build one on my own. And that’s actually a service I offer now,” Robert shares.
In college, Robert built his own computer by learning from YouTube. He helped his roommate and a friend build their computers too.
I’ve got to say: I learn so much from YouTube, but building a computer from scratch is a whole different level!
The conversation with Robert was amazing because it was an invitation for us as followers of Jesus Christ to really open up in faith. Robert began to have people in his church speak being a business owner into his life and they did not know what was going on in his life at the time.
“My wife started to speak that over me and I moved into faith and started the business that God has called for me,” Robert credits Sharique, his wife. “She’s been helping me push the vision along. That’s one thing I love about her. She will help me with my ideas. She is the biggest support system.”
Robert has learned who he is called to be, he finds solutions, and is growing daily in his skill set. Even though he didn’t have all the answers as an entrepreneur when launching, he knew he had to step out of his comfort zone.
I’m happy I did and it’s making me realize the potential I have in me.
Where do you get your confidence from?
“Jesus Christ is where I get all my influence from. I dedicate myself to the Lord,” Robert says with a humble confidence.
Even though Robert and his wife met when they did not have a relationship with the Lord, He was working in her heart. One day, she called him on the phone and encouraged him to take their relationship seriously with God. So, he started to think about it more.
Robert began to witness Sharique’s life change before his eyes. She was making clear internal changes that reflected as outward evidence. As Jesus began to change her heart, she began to change. What shifted his perspective on his faith was the time that she said she is hearing from God. That statement peaked his curiosity.
As a result of his wife’s obedience and faithfulness to the Lord, he started making decisions to read his Bible more and pray daily. Robert started to hear more from God as He spent more time with Him.
“I didn’t grow up in a religious household,” Robert says. This is the background of many who respond to the call of following Jesus Christ.
As a child, Robert’s grandma instilled biblical principles and planted seeds in him. Looking back, he was thankful for those moments. He gave his life to Christ in college and as many of us do, after a period of time, he fell away from the faith. I also experienced what Robert went through.
The Scriptures teach followers of Jesus that establishing our foundation on things that don’t last will crumble (Matthew 7:24-27), that Satan comes to test our faith (Luke 22:31-32), and that if we don’t have strength and maturity in our faith and an understanding of the Word of God (Matthew 13:1-23), we will lose our faith.
But God is so kind and He loves us so much, that He calls us back to a life with Him forever, through a relationship with Jesus Christ (John 3:16, Ephesians 2:1-9).
Robert started to take his life seriously with God after he graduated college.
He entered into a life of submitting to God’s Word and he started noticing the personal changes in his heart and his characteristics. He left Tampa to be with Sharique and they started a family in Jacksonville.
For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, and whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.

What is one unexpected lesson you have learned as an entrepreneur and business owner?
The path to building Architech Ascension wasn't without obstacles. "For the longest time, I was a person who had the skills on the inside and knew that I could succeed, but I sat on it," Robert admits.
Starting was the boldest decision he’s made in business.
This journey taught Robert the crucial lesson of becoming multifaceted. "It's important to be a person skilled at many things," he emphasizes. "Force yourself to step out of your comfort zone, push yourself, take responsibility, be motivated, and be disciplined in multiple areas at the same time."
Having launched in January 2025, one of his big challenges right now is getting his services out there through developing marketing strategies like using social media. Despite the challenges, Robert’s confidence is unshakeable.
The biggest fear for people is failure. Fear is crippling. Stepping out in faith helped me. I am learning as I go and I apply even though it’s not perfect. Having faith opened doors for me. Faith without works is dead.”

What are your goals for your business over the next year?
While Robert offers retail customers services, he focuses on long term technical solutions for business owners through remote and in-person services where he travels to clients. He loves technical support and is expanding his skill set by learning to develop software as a back-end developer. After, he will learn front-end development to offer a complete package to build software solutions for companies. He’s spent time closely watching the work that Bill Gates and Steve Jobs has done in software solutions. He knows his business will get to a point where he will need to duplicate his skill set and train others.
Robert doesn’t believe in being “self-made” or being a solopreneur.
“I see myself having opportunities to help others who work with me where I can help them start their own business and help with their vision. There’s room for everyone in the kingdom of God.”
Robert is the kind of guy who pours life into others. As he was sharing his personal goals, he also shared some words of encouragement for others in business.
For people who are starting a business, he encourages them to pick an area of interest and hone in on that area. Investing and growing a skill set in that area are vital components. Robert says that someone new in business should not undervalue himself or herself or be afraid to use the talents they have been given.
Don’t be afraid to invest in yourself and use creativity to be an impact to other people. What may be common to you may mean the world to someone else. You never know whose life you can impact because of the creativity that was placed inside you.

Spending time with Robert at a local coffee shop, Happy Brew in San Marco, inspired my faith. Robert is a faithful steward of the gifts and talents that the Lord God has placed on him. He is a devoted husband and father with a vision to advance God’s kingdom through entrepreneurship and ministry. He serves in the youth ministry and on the tech team at his church. He also shares the love of Christ by spending intentional time around the Word of God with men who are in the St. Johns County Jail.
He loves the football atmosphere in Jacksonville. Although his favorite NFL team is the Miami Dolphins, since he grew up in South Florida, he supports the Jags and loves getting together with others to watch the games.
Cultivating his marriage, having free time to enjoy life, and sharing life with others through building relationships are things Robert balances in his life and aims to steward well before God.
