From Corporate Banking to Entrepreneurial Freedom

Adam Eby's path to entrepreneurship was built on a solid foundation of corporate experience. After spending 14 years at Wells Fargo, where he climbed from underwriting to assistant vice president while wearing multiple hats in IT support, implementation, project management, and process improvement, Adam found himself laid off. His expertise in SharePoint development, Lean Six Sigma, and waste elimination led him to a nonprofit organization where he served as a senior analyst for three years in roles similar to his Wells Fargo days.

But after those three years, Adam knew it was time for a change. "After 3 years, it was time for me to fire my boss," he chuckled. "I've always been an entrepreneur by heart and have that feeling inside that I can't describe. But other entrepreneurs know the feeling." Drawing on his banking and consulting background, he saw an opportunity in the commercial lending space where he could work as an entrepreneur alongside other entrepreneurs. With a clear vision of creating something that offered real opportunity for success, helped people, and built long-term sustainability, Adam developed his business plan, branding, website, and began assembling the right partners to approve deals – laying the groundwork for what would become Skyline Solutions Group.

In addition to Adam’s successful corporate career, he holds three Master's Degrees - one in Management and Leadership (MSML), another in Human Resource Management (MSHRM), and a third in Business Administration (MBA). He is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and a Certified Lean Practitioner. Furthermore, he a published author of "ONE VOICE, ONE LIGHT: From Doubt to Destiny: Taking the Leap and Inspiring Others," and his work has been published twice in Clay Today, with more publications pending.

Adam and I got together for lunch to learn more about each other’s businesses. We originally met at a TD Bank (Normandy) small business event. When Adam isn't helping businesses achieve their financial goals, he and his wife love exploring the rich history and attractions that Northeast Florida has to offer. St. Augustine holds a special place in their hearts, where they enjoy everything from ghost tours and visits to the old jail to discovering new restaurants – making it a point to never eat at the same place twice. Their favorite routine includes having coffee across from the Fort, where they spend time people-watching and enjoying views of the water. They're also regular visitors to San Sebastian Winery, where they take tours to learn about the winemaking process, and frequently head to Jax Beach and Mickler's Beach ("Shark Tooth Beach") to soak up Florida's coastal charm.

A Passion for Travel and Cultural Discovery

Beyond Florida's borders, Adam and his wife are avid travelers with ambitious destination goals. Their top three favorite destinations include the Netherlands, Croatia, Aruba, and Sicily – places where they can immerse themselves in different architecture, cuisine, and cultures. "I enjoyed the people, I enjoyed the water," Adam reflects. Whether it's exploring Orlando's theme parks like Disney and Universal Studios or planning international adventures, their travels always center around experiencing new cultures and connecting with people. After six years in Florida, Adam's appreciation for his adopted home state continues to grow.
